The ‘p2p Collect’ network exists in most European countries where pack2pack sites exists or where p2p collect partners have been established. The network is continuously being extended. In North America the collection network of EarthMinded, the reconditioning division of Greif, is used.’p2p Collect’ is a unique collection service for used industrial packaging, processed at pack2pack’s reconditioning sites. pack2pack use their European distribution and collection network to collect used industrial packaging from their customers or the customer’s customers, solving the problem they have with empty packaging. pack2pack then either recondition or recycle the packaging materials, in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements. ‘p2p Collect’ is not a standard offering, but always a tailor made service, which can be undertaken at the site of the customers, their customers or p2p partners’ sites. It is the total collection management of used industrial packaging, including: – Collection of the packaging – Sorting at pack2pack or partners’ plants – Reconditioning of reusable packaging – Replacing old with new parts if needed – Recycling of non reusable packaging by material or energy recovery. The European global and National environmental legislations is are changing continuously. Nothing suggests that the pace of these changes will slow down. On the contrary the changes become more and more frequent. Most companies have their Responsible Care or Sustainable Development program, which p2p collect complements perfectly. Used empty packaging should not be considered waste, it can be reused, recycled or recovered.
