New Tinplate Pails & Cans
We produce pails and cans from tinplate at our Halsteren site in The Netherlands. For more info download the pails and cans brochure.
The production process for tinplate pails and cans is similar to that for steel drums except that the tinplates are printed rather than painted.
Pails and Cans are smaller forms of packaging made of tinplate, which is a steel sheet with a coating of metallic tin, and with a content of 0.5 to 30 litres.
Pails are produced either as "open-head" (typically used for paints, varnishes, and coatings) or "tight-head" (used for mineral oil, vegetable oils, food oils, and solvents).
We also produce a wide range of smaller tinplated cans, principally for the foods and paints industries.
Customers for tinplate cans tend to be smaller producers using more customised and varied packaging. We have dedicated lines for tinplate pails and cans and believe we provide higher value-added services for our customers.
