Reconditioned Steel Drums

We recondition steel drums at 9 plants within 7 countries, all being located near to customer's facilities.

Rumbeke, one of the two plants in Belgium is the largest reconditioning plant in the world.

We collect and transport empty used drums to our reconditioning factories where they are checked . Drums considered not suitable for reconditioning are recycled. Suitable drums are cleaned by heat treatment or washing, depending on the type and viscosity of the previous content. We estimate that approximately 80% of reconditioned drums in the market are washed and the remainder are heat treated.

Heat treatment is the more costly and sophisticated process than washing steel drums, and is used for steel drums that previously contained sticky or cohesive products (such as paints, glues and inks).

We typically recondition steel drums as a "laundry" service or by direct "merchandising".
Under the laundry method, we recondition drums under contract for a customer, and the customer retains ownership of the drum. By "merchandising", we mean that we purchase used drums from end-users, fillers or drum traders, which we then recondition and sell to another filler customer. We predominantly sell reconditioned drums under the "merchandising" method.

We are the market leader in steel drum reconditioning and the only company in Europe that can recondition drums across a number of European countries. We have the leading market position in steel drum reconditioning within all countries in which we operate.
